Our floatation tanks are filled with 500kg of specially formulated Epsom salts added to 1000 litres of water, creating a 30 cm deep solution, which is then heated to 35.5 degrees Celsius.

The temperature of the water is the same temperature of your skin, which means that once you are settled in the tank, it is virtually impossible to distinguish where your body ends and the water begins.

The buoyancy created by the dense salt solution effectively removes the effects of gravity on the body, and brings you close to an experience of total weightlessness.

With ear plugs in and the tank’s interior lights off, the quiet darkness allows your mind to drift into the deepest state of relaxation possible.

FAQ

+ HOW SHOULD I PREPARE FOR MY FIRST FLOAT?

  1. Abstain from consuming caffeine and alcohol for several hours before you float.
  2. Don't wax or shave on the day of your float as the salt can irritate your skin.
  3. We suggest eating a light meal about 60 - 90 minutes prior to floating.
  4. Don't drink too much water before you float. You don't want to have to get out of the tank to use the bathroom!
  5. Please wait at least a week to float after colouring your hair (or until you have washed your hair 3 or 4 times and the water runs clear). Hair dye can damage the pods and it is very costly to fix. Take the same precaution after using spray tan.

+ DO I NEED TO BRING ANYTHING?

You may want to bring a hair brush and toiletries for after your float. Other than that, we provide everything you need in your own private room (towels, bath robes, earplugs, body wash, shampoo/conditioner, lotion, and hair dryer). We recommend that you float in the nude, so bathers optional.

+ CAN I FLOAT WITH THE LID OPEN?

Absolutely! If you suffer from claustrophobia you can leave the lid open. You are in complete control! The pods don’t have locks and latches on them and they are well ventilated. You can open the door and turn the light on at any time.

+ WILL FLOATING MAKE ME DEHYDRATED?

No. Your skin will absorb magnesium from the Epsom salt and magnesium is an electrolyte! Floating is actually hydrating!

+ HOW ARE THE PODS CLEANED?

We monitor our solution very closely: pH and alkalinity levels are checked daily and the water is continuously filtered through a filtration system equipped with a UV steriliser between each float.

+ CAN I DROWN IF I FALL ASLEEP?

No. Some people fall asleep, but the water is so buoyant that you stay afloat.

+ CAN I FLOAT IF I'M PREGNANT?

Of course! Floating is very beneficial for pregnant women. There is even a special position you can float in that relieves all of the weight of the baby off of the mother’s body. However, If you are in your first trimester it is advised that you do not float. If you have any concerns, please consult with your physician before coming in.

+ CAN I FLOAT WITH MY PARTNER?

Our Dreampods can only accommodate 1 person at a time. However we do have 4 float rooms so you can book with a friend and float simultaneously!

+ CAN I FLOAT IF I'M MENSTRUATING?

Of course. Just follow the same protocol you would for a swimming pool.
